Applications are invited for a faculty position within the School of
Computer Science of the University of Adelaide.
The School of Computer Science resides within the Faculty of
Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences at the University. It
has a strong research ethos and is internationally prominent in the
areas of Computer Vision, Distributed and High Performance Computing,
Evolutionary Systems, Formal Methods, and Software Architectures. The
School is committed to continued growth in research and teaching
activity and will be housed in a new building in 2010.
We are seeking an individual with the demonstrated ability to conduct
world-class research in the area of Computer Science. Candidates that
demonstrate a close alignment of their research with that of the
existing groups in the School (and/or can form collaborations more
widely within the University) will be strongly preferred. You will also
need to demonstrate that you are able to contribute to the teaching
programme and can inspire and nurture student interest in the Discipline.

Applicants should have:
* a PhD in Computer Science or a closely related discipline
* teaching experience demonstrating a commitment and success; or a
demonstrated capacity to develop the skills that enable effective and
inspirational participation in the teaching program of the school
* the ability to significantly contribute to the teaching and
administration of subjects (including curriculum development) within the
range of subjects offered by the school
* a high level of oral and written communication skills in English
For appointment as a Senior Lecturer (Level C), in addition to the
above, you should have a proven success in attracting research funding
from external sources.
For appointment as an Associate Professor (Level D), in addition to the
above, you should have the ability to take on leadership in research, as
well as leadership and significant administration roles in teaching, and
the proven success in attracting research funding from external sources.
The successful applicant will be appointed at an appropriate level
depending on qualifications and relevant experience
Salary
(Level B) $70,075 - $83,215 per annum.
(Level C) $85,837 - $98,982 per annum.
(Level D) $103,358 - $113,868 per annum.
Plus an employer superannuation contribution of 17% applies.
This fixed-term position is available immediately for a period of 3
